Professional Biography

Chantelle Mitchell (she/her) is a writer and second-year PhD student in English & Literary Arts whose interests include Black women’s speculative literature and interactive/non-linear storytelling. Chantelle is interested in collaborative educational experiences and dedicates her career to making spaces for the creative and critical inclusion of all thinkers and makers, especially those who are frequently excluded. She ultimately wants to contribute to creative community spaces beyond higher education institutions, where she can encourage scholars to explore creativity in their critical work. She is excited to join the IRISE team in emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration across campus and the greater Denver community.
